The University of San Diego is a Roman Catholic University in San Diego, which is the 9th largest city in USA, having a population of nearly 1 300 000 inhabitants, estimated during the 2008 census, as well as the largest city of Southern Border. The University of San Diego was officially born in 1972, and since then, it quickly grew into the renowned educational institution known today.
The athletic teams from USD are known as the San Diego Toreros, who compete in the West Coast Conference, in the Division I level of the NCAA, being best known for their achievements in basketball. The football team competes in the Division I-AA, Pioneer Football League, while the women’s softball team competes in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference. In 2007, quarterback Josh Johnson managed to throw 43 touchdowns passes and 1 interception, setting a school record.
